Eddie Bucar has made a lasting contribution to the Cleveland-Style polka scene as a radio host for more than three decades on WELW 1330AM in Willoughby, Ohio. Beginning in 1968, he hosted the daily Supper Hour Polka Show, started the Sunday Morning International Polka Show, and the Croation Show - all still on the air and produced by his musician sons, Denny and Dale.

As a musician, Eddie performed on the upright bass in Cleveland orchestras for more than forty years. He appeared with Polka Hall of Fame legends, such as Richie Vadnal, Johnny Vadnal, Johnny Pecon and America´s Polka King Frankie Yankovic. He was a member of bands led by Ray Champa, Frank Urankar, Joe Luzar, Stan Blout and George Staiduhar.

For his years on-air excellence, Eddie was inducted into the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was an annual award recipient for Support and Promotion from the Polka Hall of Fame and was crowned Musician of the Year by the Penn-Ohio Polka Pals and the Collinwood Slovenian Home. He also received honors from the Croation-American community in 1982. Eddie was generous with his time and talent and performed for many fund-raisers. Eddie was added to the Polka Hall of Fame Trustees Honor Roll in 2000,

Polka fans will remember Eddie as "The Silver Fox" for his friendly, professional demeanor both on the bandstand and the airwaves.
